The director of one of the largest pre-carnival fetes has called
for a collaboration between the Festivals Commission and the organizers of pre-carnival events.
Gerard Shoul, CEO of White Fete speaking at the 2016 Carnival Symposium believes the carnival package would be more appealing to an international audience if marketed alongside the main activities.
According to Shoul, one of the hurdles faced by the events is the financial cost and as a result, requested for concessions to be given to event promoters.
The pre carnival activities enhance the carnival product creating an energy and buzz, giving a platform to local music and artists.
Shoul urges other fete promoters to liaise with the Festivals Office.
